Dear Reader,

Thank you for being here and for reading my letter. This is a new experience for me, and I am deeply grateful for the opportunity to share my thoughts with you.

I am Irina, an author at the beginning of a new - yet old - path, as I’ve started writing again after a break of two decades. When I was a teenager, I really enjoyed writing poems. At that time, I also had the desire to write a fiction book - a desire that has never disappeared. It has been quietly with me all this time.

I started writing my first fiction story about 5 years ago. All this time, I kept coming back to it time to time, adding bits and pieces until a moment. A turning point moment.

***

My journey. I was born in Moldova, a country I love and where my roots began.

My career in my home country was in banking, but it didn’t resonate with me at all. After a few years working in banking, the circumstances aligned in a different way, which led to move with my family to England - my second home country, which I love too, and which has continued my school of life. In a decade, I’ve learned so many lessons, too rough in places, but all necessary. I am so grateful that we have met so many wonderful people here who helped us navigate the map.

My work experience in England evolved from very basic jobs up to the moment we decided to create our own business. An act of courage for us and for everyone when starting from zero. Being face to face with small and big wins, and, of course with multiple challenges, shaped our character and attitudes. We were carried away by uneven.

The turning point. A tragic event occurred in our family. It led me to understand that we must slow down the pace and live each moment that life gifts us.

December 2024. We decided to travel to our home country, Moldova, to spend the winter holidays with our parents. I was so glad that we spent those days with them. We missed each other so much while being away. The holidays, at least, are a good opportunity to recover the time spent away from our parents.

January 2025. We were driving to the airport to fly back to England, my husband and I, with our two children in the car. While driving peacefully, we were hit by a car that drove erratically toward us. Then everything stopped. From that moment the pace slowed down.

Everyone from my family was safe, for which I am so grateful. I had a surgery. Everything went well. I feel deep gratitude for everyone's involvement from that moment to save my life.

Now. I am here after months of recovery on the new path of discovery. I recognize that I am still exploring this path, and it is a never-ending exploration.

Certainly, this event was that moment in my life that urged to realize how important it is to live and appreciate each moment . To be grateful that I am alive. To understand how important it is to follow my heartfelt path in life.

From here, I decided to give free rein to writing and lay my stories out on paper, while enjoying the moment.

Easy!

Unhurried!

I am looking forward to meeting each reader through my stories!

It takes several 'now' moments, in this new thinking mode, to touch the ideal that is available to anyone of us.

New learnings!

With gratitude,

Irina
